List Building - 7 Ways To Build A Meaningful Relationship With Your List In Quick Time

Do you have a responsive list? Your list is only as responsive as your relationship with it. How do you get a proper relationship going? It's all down to how you treat your list. You can either treat them as dollar signs or as people. The content in your emails will usually tell which one you are doing. Your emails must be high quality stuff and rich content.

Your autoresponder messages should be full of information that your list can apply immediately without having to purchase your product. Having applied the techniques in your messages your list will know they can trust you. They will become comfortable responding to your emails and product recommendations.

The following needs to happen for your list to be responsive.

1.You must write like an expert. As an expert you have to provide useful information for your list to act on.

2.Write as though to a friend. Your language should be friendly and simple to read. Nothing complicated. No point using big words when small ones will do. You are trying to get your list to respond to your advice not chase them off your list.

3.Get the right mindset. Don't try to sell, sell, sell. You are trying to build a relationship. You want your list to know that you have their best interest at heart. If every other email is trying to sell something then you will be robbing yourself of a relationship with your list. How would you react to incessant offers to buy, buy, buy?

4.Find out what your list wants. Send messages that help you know the needs of your list. Ask them what they want. It sure saves guessing. Saves your time and theirs too. Once you know what they need then do all you can to provide it. In this way you remain relevant to your list.

5.Do read your emails before you hit the send button. Sounds obvious but read your message and put yourself in your readers position. Would it make them want to open your email? Read it? Act on it? Delete without reading it or even unsubscribe? You must consider their reaction.

6.Treat each person on your list as an individual. Each person on your list has feelings, desires and expectations. They are not dollar signs! Be personable. Treat them well. Make sure only the best is good for your list. If you offer something for free then remember that free does not mean poor quality. If they send you questions, answer them as soon as you can. No one liners please! They have written to you because you are the expert. Don't let them down.

7.Remember that you are being judged. Your list is asking themselves if they can trust you to help them. Each email you send must be saying “yes, you can trust me”. Your free content is an indicator for your paid content. Poor content simply says your recommended products will be poor too. Good content builds a strong basis for them to expect and take appropriate action when they receive your next email.

At the end of the day you want your list to be responsive otherwise all you have is just a list. To get the money in the list you need to build a relationship with the list. The list comprises of people NOT Dollar signs. Enough said.
