In today's world it can seem almost impossible to live free of debt. But you can live debt free with a little discipline and knowledge in the right Areas. You need to learn some real world skills that can give you the most out of the money you make. Many of us make enough money to live a comfortable life. We just need to learn to prioritize the things we want and the things we need.

First thing you need to do is take inventory of your financial life. List all your monthly payments excluding your house and car for now. Unsecured debt like credit cards with high interest rates are the first things you need to concentrate on and pay off so you can live debt free. The first ones you want to work on are the ones with the lowest balances. The reason you want start with the small ones first is because it gives you a sense of accomplishment. When you start to see the balances go to zero it helps you stick to the plan. Once the small ones are done then you work on the big ones.

There are a few things you can do with the unsecured debt and credit cards with high balances, one is you can call the holder of the debt and try to negotiate down the interest rate, sometimes if you get the right person they can help you to get a better rate. So if the first phone call gets a bad response try again another day. You can transfer the balances with the bigest interest rate to the ones with a lower rate. Then you can work on the ones that has the highest interest rate and biggest balance. You need to try to make the minimum payments every two weeks instead of once a month. But like most people you do not think you have any extra money to double up on the payments you have now and you are right.

That is why you need to get some extra money and it is easier than you think. You need to take a look at what you really need and what you want. It is easy to save money on things you don't really need. Take a good look at the item you are going to buy and ask yourself do you really need it? Maybe you could get by with only half of what you need. Make a list of your wants and your needs, once you have the list you can start on one thing at a time. So you can get on the fast track out of debt. You can live debt free it's not that hard, you can do it.
