Local Host

In computer networks, local host (which means that computer) is the standard host name given to the address on the loopback network interface. The name is also a reserved area (see Localhost) allocated to avoid confusion with the more narrowly defined as a hostname.

Localhost always translates to the loopback IP address 127.0.0.1 for IPv4 or: 1 IPv6 [2].

Localhost specify where you could use the hostname of a computer. For example, the address of a web browser installed on a system with an HTTP server http://localhost to display the Web site's home page location as long as the server is configured to service the loopback interface.

Communicate with the loopback interface in the same way as a second computer on the network, but outside the local network interface hardware that is useful for testing the software.

Connecting to local web hosting services, such as server computers or other proceedings of international communication can be made using the loopback addresses very effectively.
