Locate A Cell Phone Owner – How It’s Done

In days gone by, if you wanted to track someone down by their telephone number, you contacted the White Pages. If the number you were searching happened to be a listed landline number, you’d get your results and that would be that. But if you wanted to locate a cell phone owner, you were pretty much out of luck short of paying a private detective or contacting the cops.

Fast forward today and things are a quite a bit different. Cell phone giants like Verizon and Sprint decided to generate a little more revenue for themselves and started leasing the identifying information behind wireless numbers to reverse directories that cater to this growing market.

So, there’s good and bad to that. Whereas before you’re personal information wasn’t available for any price, now anybody can find out pretty much all they need to know about somebody by paying a small fee to these directories.

All someone needs is a number to locate a cell phone owner’s name, find out their billing address, get a map location of that address, get a list of neighbors and relatives, find out their wireless carrier, get a complete owner history of the cell phone number searched, get a list of other telephone numbers associated with the owner, find out the owner’s approximate age, and even occupation.

While this is great for locating old friends and the like, it does open itself to the possibility of overly nosy people wanting to get to know more about you than you would rather not have them know. At any rate, most people use this kind of search responsibly and the ability to locate a cell phone owner is something that is here to stay.
