It is one of those things that just make life a little bit easier, and for a minimal extra cost, because you have to pay to park anyway, you don't have to deal with the hassle of finding and fighting for a parking spot.

Now that the parking is straightened out, you can get to the real business of dealing with the crowds inside of the airport and on the plane. This is where a nice attitude is going to go a long way for your sanity. And having your sanity during the holiday season is critical.
