Extra costs like the Air Passenger Tax are deterring many UK tourists from flying, especially larger family groups, who are opting to take a break somewhere in the UK instead.
The increase in domestic tourism also has the added bonus in that by contributing towards the UK tourism industry then you are helping to boost the economy and would also be funding resorts so that they can add even more activities to the wealth of tourist attractions.
Already since the credit crunch has begun many UK tourism businesses have reported significant increases in business and have made plans to expand for the potential influx of extra tourists this year.
