Los Angeles Real Estate, Monday Markets: Wide Open Spaces
The too-hot days of summer are starting to fade behind us, and fall is in the air. It’s the perfect time to step outside and enjoy nature, and this week’s Monday Markets home is just what you’ll need.
Land comes at a premium here in Los Angeles, so I was excited to find this home, located on 112 acres of sprawling lawns, wilderness, and gardens. The home itself, at just over 11,700 square feet, is just as massive as the property. There are also guest cottages and a small office complex, creating a total of almost 20,000 square feet of livable space.
Driving through the gated entrance, you’ll pass a large grassy yard that sits in front of the home before pulling up into one of the four covered parking spaces. When you walk into the home, the first impression you’ll probably get is the similarity it has to a log cabin or exquisite hunting lodge. There are hardwood floors, wood ceilings, and an overall rustic feeling. Several rooms come complete with fireplaces. The master bedroom (a massive 322x232) can easily accommodate a king sized bed, a sitting area near the fireplace with a couch and several chairs, and still not feel crowded.
The kitchen blends modern luxury with the same rustic feeling found in the rest of the home. Right off of the kitchen is a small breakfast area, surrounded on three sides by windows with a view of the grounds. There is also a formal dining room, also with a fireplace. There is also a music room, theater, exercise room, and game room.
As charming as the interior of the home is, the exterior is where this property really shines. With 112 acres, it is the perfect property for a real outdoor enthusiast. There is a championship tennis court and pool. A stable and fencing is in place for horses. An outdoor entertainment area provides the perfect space for parties. There is room for hunting, four-wheeling, and really going outside to enjoy nature.
This home is listed at $65 million, which isn’t an unfair asking price, considering the size of the property and the home that sits on it. Many of the multi-million dollar homes that have been featured on Monday Markets sit on an acre or less of land. There are a lot of exquisite high-end homes in the Los Angeles area, but very few offer this much wide open space.
Today’s homes for sale can still sell for top dollar. “How to Make Your Home Sell” is a valuable resource that explains how realtors stage your property to make it appealing to even the most tight-fisted buyer.
