Lose Abs Fat - By Fasting One Day A Week

Abdominal fat is hard to lose but it is not impossible. Simply not eating one day a week will substantially lower your calorie content for the week. Making a one day fast a habit will provide steady and consistent weight loss in the abdominal region.One of the most effective methods of losing abdominal weight is a simple one day fast. When I use the word "fast" I am speaking of an ancient practice that is widely prescribed through literature especially the Bible. By fasting I am speaking of the practice of eating no food whatsoever for one day. During a fast you will absolutely want to consume water, at least eight glasses in 24 hours and preferrably more. However, you will not want to drink other liquids because you can drink a ton of calories if you're not careful. A typical soda can contain in excess of 200 calories and the same is true for fruit juices! So it is really quite simple - no food just water for 24 hours.


We are so conditioned in America to eat all the time. We spend an inordinate amount of time just picking out what we are going to snack on each day and that is between three planned meal times! We are a nation of obese citizens because we ingest more calories than we consume. One of the biggest obstacles people encounter with fasting is their mind tells them they're going to starve or feel uncomfortable. If you are a heavy pop or coffee drinker you will probably suffer a mild headache from the caffeine withdrawl, but one day will usually not be that severe. Let's face it, you are reading this article because you are concerned about your weight and your health, a little discomfort will not destroy you and once you start to see some results on the scales your enthusiasm for fasting will increase.

I want to emphasize once again the need to drink lots of water and try to do some activity or exercise that will help keep your mind off of your body's hunger signals. The double whammy of fasting and light exercise will really ramp up your weight loss efforts.

Now one final word of importance. Fasting, even a 24 hour fast, should be something you discuss with your physician before you start. If you have serious chronic health problems your doctor may not allow you to fast. Fasting can have a cleansing effect on both body and mind. Fasting has been studied throughout the centuries and it is well known that it can give your gastro system a much needed rest. If you are spiritually minded, fasting can help you focus on a higher reality instead of being constantly enslaved to food. Self discipline is a characteristic that can be greatly developed by the simple practice of fasting.

Just think of it, no food selecting, no calorie counting, no eating for your blood type or any other fad that is currently out there in the diet world. Just say no to food one day a week and you'll say good-bye to pounds as your body starts to burn fat!
