Many companies and individuals want you to believe that natural weight loss is difficult to achieve but it's just a case of not eating as much, and having enough regular exercise; nevertheless how many people follow this advice. If it were that simple, which it should be, most slimming companies would be out of business; however, currently 35 percent of Americans are unable to prevent being overweight! If you are planning to use a natural weight loss approach then its success will depend on the meals you eat which should be low in fat, high in fiber, some protein and carbohydrates. A typical meal like this would be a jacket potato with vegetables and some lean meat, which would be healthy and give the balance you require.

The problem is calories from dietary fat can be high and have a tendency to be retained by the body which is something that doesn't happen when excess calories are consumed with other foods. Despite the number of either low fat or zero fat foods on the market, it's a surprise that the American people continue to put on weight, but there is a very good reason for this.

One of the greatest delusions of the 1990s was that no fat meant non-fattening but the truth is you are often getting just as many calories from these foods; the calories are just not coming from fat. Where this goes wrong is with overweight people who think that if it's fat free they can eat more of it instead of eating a healthy snack.

Some health care specialists believe that a good method is to eat smaller meals and healthy, nutritious snacks every 3 or 4 hours. The secret to natural weight loss is easy if you just obey it; do not eat more than your body requires through normal activities and exercise.
