This can be great for some travellers as they will save a large some of money compared to buying their insurance cover from a more traditional well known high street provider. For some travellers however this could be a catastrophic error as the cheapest travel insurance is very rarely the best. The reason some of the policies are top of the “cheap” pile is due to the fact they are exclusive of a number of essential benefits such as medical cover and substantial compensation for lost luggage. Although at the time the saving may seem great, should any traveller find themselves injured, ill or without their luggage they will get a horrible shock to find out they have to shell out large sums for treatment or new clothing!
