What is love? All of us may have our very own answers. Our answers may be on how we perceive it based on our past experiences; it may be on what we have read or what other people have told us. There is no right or wrong definition when it comes to this “L” word. It all depends on how one sees and understands it. But, what is love, really? Some people say that love is sacrificing. Others say it involves understanding. There are those who say that love is inspiration. In other words, love brings out the best in every person for love knows no limits and it knows no boundaries.
Being a universal language, everybody understands it and there is no hindrance or difficulty in communicating. Love knows no race, no culture and religion, and definitely can withstand any distance. No doubt, man cannot live without love in his life. It is like water and air, we need it to live and we need it to survive in this cruel world. While others may find it impossible to believe, but for a person who is in love, anything that is insurmountable or impossible becomes possible and within arms reach. The difficult becomes easy; the dreary day suddenly brightens up.
Love is full of contradictions. Sometimes, it is crazy to be sane. You need to fall and get hurt in order to realize what love really is. People suffer because you care. You have to unlearn to know the lesson. You have to give up in order be strong. You have to be wrong in order to make things right. Nonetheless, love’s intricate complexities are a source of strength and inspiration to live life to the fullest. We must cry to laugh again, fall apart to be whole, and get hurt in order to learn how to love. Love makes a person complete. Love gives the meaning and the direction in a person’s life.
In our quest to give that ultimate unconditional love, we may set certain standards. We want to find the perfect partners to spend the rest of our lives with. The irony of it though is when the right person comes along; all the standards seem to vanish for at the back of our minds that special person will always be an exception to the rule. We should accept the person wholly, with all the weaknesses and imperfections. We don’t question our decision because love knows no reason and it knows no bound.
