Lumbar Support Office Chair
Understanding why back support is needed in office chairs is important. The natural position for our backs is in an S-shape. Even though it looks cool, slouching should be avoided due to the long term affects it can cause to the body. Slouching causes a single curve form to the back which increases pressure to our lower spines. Having bad posture causes the spine to make up for the imbalance which brings back strain and fatigue. The upper back and head tends to bend forward in order to balance the weakening of the lumbar muscles. You can see the effects of bad posture by viewing some of the elderly who have a "looking at the ground" stance. Lumbar support should go against the small of the back. Great support helps in keeping the hips and shoulders in alignment. To create the S-shape posture, the lower back should curve inward towards your stomach and the upper back is pressed against the chair. It is not necessary to overdue the inward curve of the lower back. Several options are available to get the lower back support. Getting an adjustable office chair is one option. An adjustable chair is very beneficial if the chair is used by several people of various statures. Another option is to purchase a portable lumbar support roll. These rolls are inflatable which allows the user to determine how much support they want. The cheapest option is to place a towel or a small pillow behind the lower back when sitting. Lumbar support chairs can help reduce stress to the lower back as well as maintain the proper sitting posture. Office personnel will appreciate the benefits which can help productivity in the workplace. Despite the greatness of support, it is still recommended that for us to stand up every hour to stretch the muscles.
