Magicjack Phone Service Will Eventually Win You Over
How does 20 dollars a year for phone service sound? Not bad right? But is it really possible? Does it really work? Is it too hard to setup? Yes. Yes. And no. There you go, now you know. Those seem to be the main questions about MagicJack and now you've got the answers. But maybe you're wondering how I know? Well, the reason I know is because I have a MagicJack of my own. I use it almost everyday and the only reason I don't use it every day is only because I don't use my house phone everyday-some days I'll use a cell exclusively.
In case you didn't already know, MagicJack is a device you plug into your computer. Then you plug your phone line into the device and you get dial tone for telephone calls. You also need a high speed internet connection; and that means either DSL or Cable internet. And even though 5 years ago high speed was not so common in most people's homes today it is. And trust me when I tell you, 5 years ago when I first got high speed internet it was kind of a hassle. Especially if you went with cable. But, at the time I wanted the Vonage internet based telephone system, so I needed that fast connection. At the time Vonage was a pretty cool and novel idea; internet based telephone where you could use a normal telephone.
The idea of having a conversation over the internet wasn't new. For example, Skype had been around for years and WAY back in the day DialPad used the same idea. But the thing about those services, not unlike all the webcams and video chats of today, is that they required you plugging in extermal devices, like a microphone and possibly headphones, if you didn't want feedback from your speakers.
But these days you can use your actual telephone that's already in your house and plug right in. It's just too easy not to at least consider as a secondary line. It's too convenient to be ignored. It's similar to the early days of home computers. Remember when people didn't use to have computers in their houses? And you're using one of those right now right? But eventually computers won people over, and so will internet based telephone systems like MagicJack. Ease of use and low prices are driving factors with new technology.
