Mahindra Xylo

Mahindra & Mahindra has for the second time ventured into making of MPV. In the automotive lexicon, MPV stands for Multi-purpose Vehicle. This is also called as the MUV (Multi-utility vehicle). It is designed like mini van. After much waiting, this wonderful sedan was launched in January 2009. It is manufactured at Nasik plant in Maharashtra. This vehicle is the perfect blend of sleek, compact but bold exterior styling. Beside appealing exteriors, it has roomy and comfortable interiors. Initially, the project was named as Ingenio and was targeted to compact with likes of Toyota Innova and Chevrolet Tavera. Xylo is designed to meet all the requirements in the terms of performance, technology and safety.

The Xylo is equipped with high-tech m-Eagle engine which is built on NEF CRDe platform. The engine is as powerful as the MHawk engine of Scorpio SUV, by Mahindra & Mahindra. Xylo is built on completely new platform. This designed to blend the styling of a SUV and convenience of a MPV.

There are five variants of Xylo; E2, E4, E6, E8, and E8 ABS. All of these models have a 2.5 litre, 4-cylinder, turbo charged diesel m-Eagle CRDe engine. It delivers the maximum power of 112 bhp @ 3800 rpm and a torque of 235 Nm @ 1800-3000rpm. Besides delivering great power, this engine enhances the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. The Xylo is designed with 5-speed manual transmission. This sedan has excellent pick up and can accelerate 0 to 60 km/h in just 8.1 seconds.

For providing optimum riding comfort, xylo is equipped with an independent coil spring suspension and a multi-link coil spring rear suspension. In case of hard braking, ventilated front disc brakes and rear drum brakes reduce the stoppage time.

Style and look of Xylo is just captivating. On the one hand it looks bold and aggressive on the other hand it has got sleek and elegant curves. It features bold grille with headlights in eth shape of upper brow. These features give it an attitude. This vehicle can run on and off road with equal ease. This is possible because of its 15-inch steel wheels with tubeless tyres. The body colored bumpers, integrated with its body, twin-colored outside rear view mirror, wrap-around taillights are the features which add to its beauty.

Xylo can accommodate 7-8 people comfortably. The interior features of the sedan include power adjustable power steering, adjustable driver's seat, folding rear seats and flat bed front seats. Other features include surround cool dual air conditioners, foldable flight trays, express power windows, mobile charging points, courtesy lamps, and MP3 CD player.

Mahindra Xylo is a vehicle designed for big Indian families which live together and travel together.
