The internet is simply a method of finding information. Generally that is what people are looking for when they visit the internet. They might also be chatting to friends on one of the social networking sites like Facebook or Myspace but generally, it is information they are after.
There are a number of ways of making money on the internet. For instance your website or blog can be monetised by ad sense and other sorts of advertising like banner ads. There is a value in creating a webpage or blog and monetising it in this way.
But the best way that money is made on the Internet is by creating products, or selling other peoples products. These can take the form of e-books, videos, courses; all sorts of products are out there.

I am not talking here about looking for products about dieting for example but about products about an aspect of dieting. What about "6 days to the perfect abs"? "The truth about the cabbage soupdiet"?You need to be narrowing down to a niche within the main subject area.
It helps if you have an interest in it as well. You will be in a position where you will be creating content around that subject and promoting it, so it will help if you have at least a passing interest!
Once you have found the starving crowd, then you need to find the product that might suit them. Head over to Clickbank, the largest promoter of digital online products. Its FREE to join and quite simple to enrol. There are clear online instructions to join and it takes a few moments.One thing you might want to think about carefully is when you are asked to choose a clickbank nickname. Try and keep it impersonal because that is the link that will be seen by your potential customers and it looks a little more professional if there is something in there like "redirect" or "goto" or "jump" rather than a personal name.
When you have joined Clickbank, which doesn't take longer than a few minutes then have a look at the Marketplace .There is a clickable tab for it. There's tons of sites, products and catagories. They are ranked in terms of how popular they are , how many affiliates are promoting them and how many those affiliates have sold. Its updated every 24 hours and changes frequently.
So what are you being told here in the marketplace? You get the dollar per sale, that's how much you are going to make per sale and the percentage you are being offered it if you promote it as an affiliate. The gravity figure is the ranking given by clickbank,but basically the ones at the top are selling more.You should be looking at products with a gravity between 20 and 100.That represents a product that is already popular but not so popular that you wont be able to break in because of the competition.
When you are choosing what you might want to promote, don't just look at the top ones. There might be way too much competition there. Have a look at the sites, check out the sales letter. Are there testimonials? Does it look like a fair price? Visit the site and have a look.
Once you have found the product you think might work for you, click it and enrol on the affiliate programme. You will usually then get an email which gives you instructions. Have a look at what you get there by way of tools and support. Compare a few to get a feel for it. Give it a go.
