Make Tasty Pancakes
First, find a good recipe. Get a basic recipe for a cookbook or online or you can look for something unique like sour cream pancakes or crepes. Get whatever you like, just make sure you have the basic ingredients. Start by measuring out all the dry ingredients. Follow the recipe exactly. Measure out the ingredients correctly and accurately and sift and stir as directed. You don't want mistakes because they will mess up your pancakes. Mix these dry ingredients together. Now measure out and mix all the wet ingredients. If the recipe asks you to melt the butter, mix all the other wet ingredients first and then quickly add in the butter. Beat the ingredients thoroughly to combine them well. Once the wet and dry ingredients are mixed well separately, mix them together. Be careful to stir them gently. If you over-beat them you risk making tough pancakes. A few clumps are okay, but if you sifted the flour and mixed it all well, this should be avoided. Heat a griddle or pan to medium high heat and lightly grease with butter, vegetable oil, or nonstick spray. With a ladle or measuring cup, pour about cups of batter onto the pan to make pancakes (that are/spaced) about 2 inches apart. Let them cook for about a minute. Little bubbles should start to form across the pancakes. This will tell you its time to flip. Cook for another minute on the other side. When the pancakes are finished, they should have a golden brown color on each side. Serve them warm with butter and syrup.
