Making Gold And Speed Leveling In Tandem In Northrend

When you get new content to play around in, there are in veritably going to be two things you worry about first and foremost - getting more gold and leveling up your character as you do that. The faster you level, the more gold you need and the more gold you need, the more time you spend not leveling. It's an inverse paradox that can make gold making and leveling in a new zone like Northrend very hard. Here a few tips to help you hit up both methods at once with practiced ease.

The Right Path

Start out in your starting zone at Level 70 and don't buy anything you don't need. Gear is pricey and a waste of gold if you don't need it. You should instead focus your attention on saving your gold for later. At Level 77, you need to be able to get your new flying skill (it's not optional this time around) and you're going to need a lot of gold if you want to raid at all - Level 75 consumables are extremely pricey.

Professions in Tandem

The second thing to consider is that you'll need to level up your professions while you're leveling up your character level. You should have one gathering profession at least (most characters do) and should strive to hit Level 450 by the time you are Level 74 and can get to Dalaran. Then, you can focus on your crafting profession and start bursting out some serious profit when you hit Level 80. If you gather ore up to Level 74 and sell it all for example, that should net you an additional 1,000-2,000 gold depending on where you farmed it.

Selling at the Right Time

You should obviously have a good auction house alt to sell your items back in Ironforge, Orgrimmar or wherever you want to station them for your faction. They should then hold items off in a bank and sell them when they are going to sell for the most. This will save you time in relisting and maximize profits. Sell consumables and crafting goods before raiding time each night (between 7-10 server time) and ramp up sales right before Friday and Saturday raiding begins. Never sell loot on Sunday or Monday as that's when raiders unload and never sell before maintenance on Tuesday morning (no one will see your auctions).

If you do it properly, you can make a higher profit off of the gear and loot you gather without having to spend extra time working at it. By doing this, you'll be able to continue leveling, have more gold for things like mounts and skill ups and never have to worry about falling behind.
