Making Money With You - How To Use Video Marketing To Successfully Market Your Business

Too many people are making excuses to why video marketing is not for them. None of those excuses hold any merit when you realize how easy it is to make videos that will successfully market your business. Just think about it, your site is never going to be ranked the #3 most viewed site by Alexa.com. So you need to piggyback off the success of sites like YouTube to get your business to the next level.

YouTube alone is a free traffic gold-mine that gives you the potential to showcase your website in front of millions. It’s also an opportunity to showcase yourself and put credibility behind your business. Below are some simple steps you can follow to make a successful video marketing campaign that will build your site traffic, increase your sales and help your brand yourself.

1. Don’t Be Afraid, Smile For The Camera
I don’t mean you have to literally smile in your video. I just mean that you shouldn’t be afraid to show your face and be yourself. A lot of people will write off the idea of making a video because they’re shy or aren’t good speakers. But putting a face to your business and branding yourself is so much more personal and can immediately make your business a legit opportunity in many prospects eyes. Be courageous, make a simple outline and make a short couple minute video talking about your business. You don’t need to be Brad Pitt, you just need to be able to get your point across.

But, if you’re truly uncomfortable sitting in front of the camera, that’s fine. You can use software like Camtasia to show people slideshows or tours of your site while talking them through what you’re doing. You could even put together a series of pictures and text to music, explaining your business. The possibilities are endless.

2. Don’t Bore Us To Death
Reading from a script and blabbing on about your business isn’t going to attract people to your video. It’s just going to put them to sleep or have them clicking to the next video. You know what you like to watch when it comes to tv shows, commercials or movies. Treat your video as if it’s a commercial and grab people’s attention. Make them want to keep watching and come back for more. You can do this by making a parody of a commercial or adding effects with Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. Repeating a catch phrase or doing something that people will recognize as your “thing” will also make people remember you and make you more reputable. Again, the possibilities are endless.

3. Never Forget Your Link
If you forget your link, you video is more or less wasted. Driving traffic to your site is the major point of the video, right? I like to flash my link on the bottom of the screen a couple of times throughout the video and along with my contact information at the very end. But no matter what, make sure to have a clickable link in your description to make it easier for people. Sites like YouTube do that for you as long as you put the http:// in front. The easier you make it for people to find get to your site, the more traffic you are going to get.

4. Your Title And Description Box
Keywords are the name of the game. If you want your video to be searchable you need to make your title and description keyword rich, just like an article in your article marketing campaigns. Include the name of your business and your keyword in the title as well as multiple times in the description. Contact info is also a description box must. People need to know that you’re a real person. Step #1 is showing yourself and making yourself heard in the video, step #2 is showing that they can contact you for help.

5. YouTube Is Only The Beginning
There are literally hundreds of other video sites on the Internet. Although YouTube is the most popular, each one of those video sites has their own followings and can mean a significant amount of added traffic to your site. You can make it easy on yourself and make a free account with TubeMogul, which allows you to upload your video to more than 20 other video sites at once.

But don’t limit yourself to just video sites. You’re given a link and embed code to your video for a reason. Post your videos and links to your business related blogs, social networking sites, your personal site, safe list emails, and even some of your classified ads. Before you know it, one video could be posted on hundreds of other sites. Imagine if you do that for every video you produce.

6. Keep Those Videos Coming
Don’t just stop at one or two videos. Create a large catalog of videos to get your face and your business all over the Internet. Set a goal of a video a day, or a couple a week. After a month’s time you could have anywhere from 10 to 30 videos or even more spread over multiple sites creating an immense web of exposure for you and your business.

There are people making a killing using video marketing as a primary means of promoting their business. There is no reason why you can’t be doing the same. Drop the excuses and start making videos. You could quickly be making a name for yourself and in turn bringing in the sales that you never imagined you could have gotten from a completely free advertising resource.
