Making More Money Or No Money

Here we go again. Perpetuating the old myth that the Democratic Party is the Party of the people, and is concerned about the middle class and poor in our society, along comes our inexperienced Public Relations President pushing for an increase in the minimum wage from $7.25 to $9.50.

A fast look at that headline would probably make many people think that it’s a good idea…but it’s not. After all, all of those low wage earners deserve to get more money so they can live a better life, don’t they? Yes, they do, but having the federal government once again acting like a bull in a china shop, mandating (forcing) businesses to give their minimum wage employees more money, has always, yes always, resulted in businesses firing some of those employees because they cannot pay all of them at the higher rate, some businesses closing their doors, throwing everyone out of work, reducing the amount of money available to them for growing their businesses so they would hire more workers, or not hiring those extra minimum wage employees that they planned on hiring.

Blacks and teenagers have historically borne the brunt of these idiotic and counterproductive wage increases, with their unemployment rates soaring each time the minimum wage is increased. Union workers seem to be the only beneficiaries of these increases. Could that be what this is all about?
