1. Plan early. Many Alaskan cruises will book up quickly. If you plan to visit in high travel times such as in the summer months, it is harder and therefore more expensive to get the lodging and passage on board. Instead, plan early on so that you are not paying a high fee.

2. Visit in May or September. You will enjoy lower prices if you visit in the early travel season, May or in the later part in September. The benefits here are many besides that as well. You will see more wildlife as well as experience less crowds and more daylight during this time.

3. Larger ships. Larger cruise lines are more affordably priced than those smaller ships. Although the smaller cruise lines do offer a marvelous choice, they are not necessarily affordable. You can find more benefits in entertainment as well on a larger ship.

4. Cabin choice. Sometimes there are more costly cabins on board your cruise ship. To lower the costs, take on interior cabin or one on the lower decks rather than a balcony view. If you plan to spend more time on the deck, you will save yourself money and still take in all the beauty that you want to.

5.Comparison shop. It is always wise to do some comparison shopping from one cruise line to the next to find a better deal. Just don’t do it too long or you will find yourself without a reservation.
