Marketing Strategies For Email That Work

So much information is out there regarding sound email marketing strategies that it may be difficult to differentiate those strategies that are useful from those that are not. When implementing an email marketing campaign, it is crucial to begin the right way or the campaign can backfire on the organization. This is especially problematic because it can result in a loss of customer confidence. Below are three tried and true tactics that are sure to be effective, if used correctly.

First of all, be certain the email is honest and clear. The offer should be clearly communicated so there is no room for misinterpretation by the recipient. An email that is misleading or 'creative' with the truth will not gain and then retain loyal clients over the long haul. You may trick someone once but you will burn them forever.

Second, make good use of the 'limited time offer' strategy. This is one of the best strategies that can be employed. Promote a special offer that only lasts for a definite period of time. The feeling of “if I don’t act now, I’ll miss out!” creates an adrenaline rush in customers that will be sure to garner extra sales. This type of impulse buying is what happens, for example, when you see an interesting item in the final minutes of auction on Ebay—don’t you get excited?

The third strategy is somewhat like the second—use vouchers. While vouchers may seem like an old-fashioned marketing technique, they are even more useful than ever, because of the financial pinch that many consumers are currently experiencing. Vouchers are appealing because they enable people to save money and still purchase the desired product. A voucher either offers a certain percentage off or may involve a two-for-one offer of some sort.

These email marketing strategies have stood the test of time. They are effective methods to catch people's attention, establish new customers and create familiarity with the company and its particular product or service. A product or service that is high quality can then on an ongoing basis sell itself. Be clear about what the company offers, provide a special deal, and then follow through when you begin gaining those new customers!
