There are a lot of guidelines and traditions involved with a religious marriage ceremony. However, some couples find this to be impersonal, and since this type of ceremony is typically carried out in a courthouse, there is no room for invited guests. This in turn creates a less personal ceremony, especially if close members of the family cannot attend. Finding an ordained minister to oversee a non-denominational marriage ceremony is the best way engaged couples to enjoy their ceremony without being concerned about religious beliefs. Even for religious couples, a non-denominational minister allows both parties to incorporate religious traditions into the ceremony. A couple should not have to forgo their own religious beliefs simply because getting married in a church is not an option.

The times have changed, and people with different cultures and religious backgrounds are becoming more comfortable with interfaith and non-denominational marriages. States have even recognized legal unions between same sex couples. With this change comes the need for ordained ministers, and not just a notary public or a judge, to carry out a legal wedding ceremony. Luckily, there are many open-minded individuals who can meet these needs.
