Media In Relation With Other Institutions :

In the world of advertising, it is important to maintain good media relationships because they serve as a springboard for prospective marketing ventures. In its broadest sense, media can greatly be understood in relation to its context which can either be in terms of political, social, emotional or economic assumptions. We can conclude this because of its connections with big- time business owners that could afford billions of money just to pursue their classifieds for promotion of a particular product. The media in return who has successful relations with the big- time business owners can afford to negotiate whether to give a free business promotion, a free advertising or free classifieds, if not discounted.

The media with its practitioners is considered a powerful catalyst of change as well as a controlling agent in publicity and legitimization. For example, it can ask for support, money, attention or content on which grounds they can stand in favor of the government and some politicians or in reverse, they can also stand against them.

In terms of media’s contribution to education, it could simply be stated that watching of tv at least an hour a day can contribute much to enhancement of learning. With the advent of cable channels, more and more televised school-related issues and concerns are directly teaching students especially those in the pre-school and elementary years like the programs in Barney, Sesame Street and some localized cartoon networks.

This holds true also in the field of medicine where television networks hold programs related to lifestyle checking of health-related issues. Doctors and most practitioners coming from this field is more or less explaining various tips or precautions on how to avoid life-threatening illnesses such as cancer.
