Meditation Cd

There are many ways to start training one’s self to meditate – a quiet 15-minute prayer on one’s own every morning, a short walk on a safe and clear pathway on the way to work or home, and even focused readings of the Bible and other books on positivism and inspiration are forms of meditation.

For beginners who wish to train the mind to relax first before embarking on full-fledged concentration techniques, using meditation CD is the best way to start on one’s own. Unlike other meditative efforts geared toward mind-conditioning, listening to meditation CD just requires the mind to let go. There is no deliberate struggle to “think” and “think of something,” but rather, it opens the mental state to absorb soothing melodies or inspirational lyrics, or both.

Meditation CD as a tool for meditative therapy goes back to the origin and birth of meditation, where sacred hymns and religious praises are an important part of sanctity rites.

The use of meditation CD is part of Natural Stress Relief meditations, a group of western meditative techniques that do not hinge on strict religious instructions but rather promotes physical and mental well-being. The best thing about listening to a meditation CD is that it can be done anywhere at anytime.

Meditation CD should not necessarily be religious in composition or theme or religious songs. Music files containing Gregorian chants, Gaelic hymns and Celtic songs are popular not only to accompany meditation exercises but as meditative activities in themselves. This means that listening to the music, just enjoying it and letting the senses flow with the ethereal melodies is already an act of meditating.
