Megan Fox Shows Why You Can Take Diets Too Far

Megan Fox, the American actress and model, received a lot of media attention earlier this year after stepping out in public having lost a lot of weight. However the truth is that she was now too thin, and she openly admitted so herself just recently, and this is why you need to be careful about losing too much weight if you decide to go on a diet.

In Megan's case the weight loss was a result of a strict vegan diet in which she stopped eating bread, sugary foods and coffee and instead ate a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Now though she has decided to ditch this diet in favour of eating healthily and getting plenty of exercise, which I think is a lot more sensible.

The fact is that although being thin is an aspiration for many women, you can take things too far. Any man will tell you that there is nothing remotely sexy about a girl with a stick insect-type body whose bones are showing through their skin.

It is much better to be slim and toned with a natural looking body that is neither overweight or underweight. This can be achieved with an effective weight loss program initially, followed by an exercise regime that firms and tones the body.

So for example a basic aerobics workout a few times a week, as well as a few toning exercises with light dumbbells would keep you in good shape. If you combine this with some aerobic exercise such as running or swimming, for instance, you would really help yourself stay in shape and maintain a good figure. Plus you should be able to eat some of the foods you enjoy without gaining any weight.

In some cases you may find that you have a naturally good looking body shape anyway. So although it is preferable to do some exercise in order to stay fit and healthy, you may find that just sticking to a healthy diet is enough to maintain a decent body. Everyone is different. For some people it is easy to stay at the same weight throughout their life, whilst for others it is a constant battle.

Anyway the point is that you should try and ensure that you stay within a certain range once you have successfully lost weight from dieting. You don't want to lose your discipline and start putting on weight again, but at the same time you shouldn't keep on dieting all the time otherwise you could end up losing too much weight like Megan Fox did before realising the errors of her ways. After all being underweight is just as unattractive as being overweight in some peoples' eyes, if not more so in some cases.
