Menopause - Signals, Reactions, And How To Cope
The First Signals Many women start menopause initially with a few mood swings. This is the time when all of a sudden women feel that they have lost their identity, or they feel totally unwanted, or unattractive; regardless of the reasons, most women experience extreme mood swings that range from being hopelessly depressed, to being irritated and unreasonable. The First Reactions For some it takes some time to put two plus two together at first, but once they realize that they are experiencing the first signs of menopause they find out that it is actually not all that scary. Yes, it does look like you are loosing something that is precious - the capacity to breed; to put it crudely - but at the age 45 this all of a sudden does not seem like a bad idea at all. Coping with It What actually bothers most women is that they wonder whether they are still attractive to their husbands or boy friends; whether they are viewed as being feminine. This period is a very difficult period because you try to view yourself through the eyes of everyone that matters to you, and you wonder whether or not menopause affects their love for you. It Does Not Let me assure you of one thing. Love does not diminish because you are experiencing menopause. You will actually see that the people that are dear to you cope a lot better than you expect them to when it comes to dealing with the changes that you are experiencing. I have seen teenagers adjust to mood swings, and spouses go out of their way to make their wives feel wanted and cared for during this time. Thank you Science Due to the advancement in science, there a lot of ways for women to suppress the symptoms of menopause. It is important to look at it as a phase and not as an ailment. Even though it has a number of psychological dimensions, it is actually a transition phase that needs to be met head on.
