Mindset Note: What's Your Bounce Rate?

How To Succeed With Anything You Do Online!

Bounce Rate (Google's definition): The ratio of visitors to your site who stick, read, and click deeper into your site vs. the number of people who hit and leave your site in under 30 seconds.

100 people come in, 50 stay and read, 50 leave immediately: Your bounce rate is 50%.

Bounce Rate (shiny object syndrome): The number of times you try something new to make money online and establish a real business vs. the number of times you've stuck around long enough to do so.

Have you got the fever? Find yourself jumping around from idea to idea, opportunity to opportunity, always leaving something unfinished, incomplete or half-baked?

Therein lies your personal albatrosse.

You have no problem "seeing" yourself as a successful web entrepreneur. Your problem is you are easily distracted by "shiny object syndrome."

There are about 10 things I know I could be doing right now to put another million in my pocket in 6-12 months. At first, you might think, "why aren't you doing all of them then!!?"

Because I used to be like you. I used to spread myself way too thin. The ideas and projects I was working on were great. They could have each made me a lot of money. Yet, they didn't.

Why? Because you can only do so much. And (this is a big one) the fear of settling down and making something work, pushing through whatever barriers that come up, and seeing 1 project through no matter what, is intense!

When the going gets rough, boring, or complicated, the easiest thing to do is open your email and check out the "shiny objects" people have mailed you. It is SO ENTICING to get wrapped up in the dreams other people try to sell you.

The easiest thing in the world to do is dream.

Especially when someone else who is artful in their imagery and copywriting is helping you dream. And dreaming is so much more fun than doing sometimes!

Buying another product. Signing up for another more-than-full-time commitment (an entirely new business model) that will demand you drop what you're doing. The buying and the dreaming is what makes you bounce from thing to thing.

I never made as much money as I make now.

When I had 5-10 full-time projects in the air at a time I was the most stressed out dude you could imagine. And the money was pathetic compared to nowadays.

Today my focus is 100% on BlogSuccess. And I still fight temptation.

Take the "arbitrage" thing everyone and their sister is mailing you about today. I'd like to play with that. It seems really intriguing. With my resources I'm sure I could make it work like a charm.

Yet I'm not buying it. There are a couple other interesting things in my mail today that I had to fight to get away from because I have work to do for YOU here at BlogSuccess.

You must do the same thing, much as it may hurt to do so at the time.

What will happen for you is you will achieve what you are after (finally) and see a project through to your goals and deadlines.

I know this because I've proven it to myself.

Today I can resist the biggest, fattest, chocolate-covered offer dripping with opportunity and promises galore. Because I am on my path. And nothing is going to steer me away.

You have chosen a path to follow by being here. You know what we teach works. You've dreamed with me in the promise of Blog Success and you took the leap.

Now, no matter how much those shiny objects tempt you, DO NOT stray from your goals here!

I promise you this: getting through the work here and seeing your first income from your efforts is going to be thrilling. And everything you did to make that happen will have been worth it!

It gets easier to stay put and focus once you've gotten to the money part of blogging. After that, people will have a much harder time distracting you from your goals!
