Ever wanted to learn, remember and recall the United States presidents in order? They are

Coolidge 1923-29 (Calvin- Rep),

Hoover 1929-33 (Herbert- Rep),

Roosevelt 1933-45 (Franklin D- Dem),

Truman 1945-53 (Harry S- Dem),

Eisenhower 1953-61 (Dwight D-Rep),

Kenedy 1961-63 (John F- Dem),

Johnson 1963-69 (Lyndon B-Dem),

Nixon 1969-74 (Richard- Rep),

Ford 1974-1977 (Gerald- Rep),

Carter 1977-1981 (Jimmy- Dem),

Reagan 1981-1989 (Ronald-Rep),

Bush 1989-1993 (George- Rep),

To remember the presidents I use a mnemonic: this mnemonic gives me the first or the first few letters of the name of each president. A mnemonic is a zany phrase which can readily be stored by the mind and recalled at will. So, imagine a space animal named Jo. Jo is involved with some kind of nightly wrestling match where he carries rayguns. One day, being clumsy Jo bungles and shoots his own foot, ouch. So, close your eyes and picture and remember the exact phrase:

Jo nightly fought carrying rayguns but clumsily bungled; ouch!
