Mobile Soldier Gundam

Mobile Soldier Gundam, a Japan based anime, wildly popular all over the world led to the production of very popular Gundam Model Kits. These kits consist of plastic and non plastic models of the vehicles, mechas and the various characters of the anime “Mobile Soldier Gundam”. The plastic models are made by a company called Bandai in Japan and China who have monopoly in the market when as they have the exclusive licence to manufacture and market the Gundam kits. They manufacture the models in three grades, with the quality and complexity increasing with each ascending grade namely High Grade, Master Grade and Perfect Grade. On the 30th Anniversary of the franchisee’s they launched a 1:48 Mega Size Model RX-78-2 Gundam.

The High Grade models are small and easy to use. The models created of this kit have basic skeletal frames, some attention to the details and mobility at all the major joints. The High Grade models are better than the Master Grade in terms of details. They are more expensive than the other models as they feature a detailed and movable inner frame which enables more mobility to humanoid. The Perfect Models are the highest in order of quality and come in the size of 1:60 and have immaculate details and finishing which includes colour depth and detailed inner frame and various points of articulation. For example even the knuckles of the hand have mobility and are detailed enough for the normal human eye to discern. The Bandai also has a No Grade which consists of the models they had launched 30 years back which require the use of paint and glue. The 1:35 Scale models whereas consist of models which don’t have humanoids whereas consists of military vehicles and armoury.

Though they are on the more expensive side, but the kits are unparalleled in terms of quality and details. They provide a platform for the experienced modellers to exercise their creativity and create masterpieces of Gundam models. These toys, which were initially popular in the Eastern countries, have gained immense popularity in the west also thanks to the various anime shows and manga comics. They are perfect for gifts to children to develop their analytical and mechanical functions, hand eye coordination and encourage creativity.
