You can never miss the beautiful and elegant St. Petersburg. It was built by Peter the Great as the imperial home. There are palaces in every corner and the wealthy and the rich lived here in those days. Today it has a new name. It is called Leningrad. After the communist headquarters moved to Moscow, it became the powerhouse of communists and the soviet regime.

Moscow looks bold and beautiful today attracting millions of tourists. The domes of St Basils Cathedral present an amazing sight and it is situated near the huge Mausoleum where Lenin's body is laid to rest. You can enjoy the wonderful Bolshoy ballet at the grand Bolshoy Theatre. Other places of interest are The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and the Red Square.

It is amazing to know that in 2006, the Forbes Magazine ranked Moscow as having the highest number of billionaires in the world. However, the money was said to be looted during the collapse of communism. The scenario has much improved today as you can see Muscovites sipping champagne in elite restaurants and shopping expensive brands at expensive boutiques.

If you are interested in fine arts, you can visit places like the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts etc. You can also enjoy the works of famous writers, composers, choreographers, playwrights and film makers at public places and venues in the form of presentations regularly.

With several star-topped towers of the Kremlin, Moscow has today become one of the most recognizable places in the world. The city has famous landmarks from the St Basil's Cathedral to the Red Square and Stalin's Seven Sisters and Gorky Park. The railway station in Moscow too presents an architectural tour de force. The orthodox churches are a memoir of the past.
