Instead of running an endless and tedious campaign to exchange links with other websites in your niches, just write articles.
Each time you write an article, put a link in your bio box in the keyword text that you want to get a top 10 ranking for. You’ll notice when you look at my bio box that the link pointing back to my site is in the text of the keyword I want to rank highly for.
Each website that publishes your article on their website gives you another back link pointing back to your website. When a search is done for the keyword linking back to your site, the search engine will put your site at the top of the searches as soon as you have a higher number of quality back links pointing back to your site for that particular keyword.

Article marketing is a viral method of advertising. To illustrate, when you ahve submitted your article to directories it will be published by many other websites and it will continue to spread exponentially atound the world.
I personally wrote an article and submitted it to a handful of directories and two weeks later that one article had spread to over 14,000 different pages across the internet.
Now I had thousands of pages online pointing back to my site, thus this site of mine rose to #2 on Google, #1 on Yahoo and #3 on MSN, and in the top 5 of Dogpile and Ask,
Now I had free traffic coming to my site from the high search engines rankings and there were 14,000 different places across the world someone could come and find me by finding one of my articles.
And this article will never stop spreading. It will continue to spread for as long as the Internet exists.
