Motivational Speaker - Setting Goals For Success

I am Dennis Andrew and am going to give a summary on one of the topics that I cover in my motivational/keynote presentations. As a motivational speaker, I have several topics, but this article will briefly talk about "Setting Goals for Success." In my bio, I have included a link to a short motivational speech that I did in Ohio. My presentations as a motivational speaker are often in large organizations, but I have a special passion for speaking to students. University/College students tend to really process the messages which lead to incredible transformations. This article summary will be largely covered in the included Ohio motivational presentation on "Setting Goals for Success."

Success and failure are separated by one factor: the way people go about setting their goals. People who have goals "and follow through with them" succeed...everyone else fails. Notice that you will not even be tempted to give up on your pursuit unless the going gets tough. But the victory is to those who don't give up...and only they who realize that the level of difficulty is irrelevant, will be those who pay no attention to the promptings that tell you to give up. This leads us to a question: What is a goal?

A goal is any dream that you have marked down on your calendar, affirming that you will have it by that date. A goal is something that you have purposed to achieve and you will accept no alternative. In other words, you have so determined to get it, that no person or influence or circumstance can step in your way and sway you from your purpose. This ensures that you don't give up. Only then is it a goal. But why do we need goals? Because goals are a point of destination for our brains. Read that again. Goals are a point of destination for our brains.

Let it be very clear to you that if you have no point of destination, it doesn't matter how good or how capable you are, you're still getting nowhere...you just may be getting there with more skill. Because of our conditioning, we have become oblivious to this fact. As a motivational speaker and coach, I consistantly speak to students who have been going to school for a year or two and still have no clue what they're going for. Why? Because in the middle class (mindset, not finances) society, we are taught that you go to school to to get a degree so that you can prove your education, so that you can have a good job that grants security. Let's take a quick look at that.

Your brain only let's you see what IT is looking for regardless of what you want to be looking for. It does this by our conditioning - which is our beliefs and habits. So with the above mindset, your brain instantly cancels out any possibility for you to get/recognize/find a good job without having an education which you technically don't have without a degree, which you can't get without going to school. There is nothing wrong with going to school, but the mindset, the system is so flawed that most of the point is missed.

The middle class mindset conforms...therefore it cannot succeed. It is a programmed failure, if it is not changed. The good news is that change is possible. Difficult, but possible.

This is a path for success. Take a look at the motivational presentation.
