Mountain Biking Santa Fe, New Mexico

Santa Fe is a great place to hang out after a day of biking, one of the many trails, nestled around the city. One of these jewels is Cata MT. Bar & Grill where you can play billiards in the upstairs pool room while you’re waiting for some great food from the friendly staff. Another of the many unique places to hang is the Cowgirl Bar and Grill where you can order unordinary delights such as sweet potato fries, with Honey Mayo Dressing, encrusted with walnuts. While you’re enjoying one of the many restaurants in the city, you can contemplate witch trails you’re going ride the next day, and there are numerous to choose from. Aspen Vista a 12.4 mile trail that starts at 10,000 feet and climaxes at 12,045, is a beautiful ride winding you through stands of Pines and Aspens. The Glorieta Mesa a few miles from town has a variety of terrain, with cliffs on the Eastern side, Green lush grass surrounding the pines, as well as an abundance of wildlife to enjoy. The Glorieta Mesa Trail is a great trail to train for some of the more technical trails around town, like the Atalaya Mountain that has some technical riding, for the more experienced Mountain Biker. Besides being an awesome challenge, the atmosphere of the Atalaya screams in a kind of an extreme pristine Awesomeness; if you will.

I believe there are over 26 marked trails in the area, that all have some kind of unique characteristic that defines them, and for that reason we are calling Santa Fe New Mexico, the number one destination in the states for a Biking adventure. Putting aside the aspect of the unbelievable Beauty that surrounds Santa Fe, the cultural uniqueness of the buildings, and the history they wreak of, when it comes to planning a trip, that you will never forget, this place is the cat’s meow. If you do decide to camp while biking the area, we recommend checking out these campsites, that are near the city as well. Hyde Memorial State Park, Black Canyon, Nambe Falls, Big Tesuque, Cochita Lake, just to suggest a few, that we know you’ll enjoy. If you can imagine the beauty that exists, within New Mexico, or you already have it imprinted in your mind, from a previous trip to the enchanted land, then you already know that the hiking around Santa Fe is epic as well.
