There comes a time when you need to say enough is enough. I need to sort out this horrible burden of debt that is hanging around my neck. I am getting bored of switching to different credit card providers in search of the best rate of interest. I have to start to manage the debt, rather than simply accept it. I have heard of something called debt consolidation, is this the answer?
Being in debt is not something you should be ashamed of, however it is also something which you should not simply ignore. It is not likely to go away on its own, the chances of you winning the lottery is extremely slim of course so lets not just hope for some sort of miracle to happen either.
I am aware of how worrying being in debt can be. A few years ago I had six major creditors and I have to say that I had many a sleepless night. I found it very difficult to think in a positive way and despite my best efforts could not reduce what I saw as a debt mountain.
I then heard about a mortgage introducer who specialised in placing his clients with mortgage brokers appropriate to their needs. I decided to give this chap a call. He was more than helpful and more importantly for me at that stage, reassuring.
I was introduced to a broker who explained the benefits of debt consolidation to me. Instead of paying back in effect six creditors, with differing interest rates, why not pay back one with an even lower rate?
This is what I decided to do and for me personally it is the best move I ever made. Debt consolidation may not be everyone however I can not actually find any negatives to it myself.
