Myers Briggs Test

In today’s day and age, we need the biggest advantage we can get when it comes to finding the right career path and landing a job. The days of joining the family business are over; more and more people are seeking higher education in order to pursue a career path they love. However, finding a career path that you love is not always easy! If someone loves animals, does that mean he or she should be a veterinarian or an animal rights activist? If someone has a passion for politics, should he or she run for office or be a political reporter? If someone loves fashion, should he or she design clothes or become a buyer for a retail store? The possibilities are endless, and sometimes we need a little help assessing ourselves and finding the right career path.

Most people are aware of the Myers-Briggs personality test, which classifies people into one of two personality types on four psychologically opposite scales. The scales are Extraversion versus Introversion, Sensing verses Intuition, Thinking versus Feeling, and Judging verses Perceiving. Knowing your Myers-Briggs profile can provide very helpful insight into the jobs that are most suitable for your personality type.

Here are Your Life’s Path, however, we offer many assessments tools beyond the Myers-Briggs. For example, we also offer the Newly Revised Strong Interest Inventory, which is regarded as the most widely-used career-planning instrument in the world. The assessment measures your interest in six different areas, including Artistic, Realistic, Conventional, Enterprising, Social, and Investigative, to help you better understand your interests in these areas. It is designed to measure a person’s natural interests and offer detailed career recommendations to help you find the most satisfying career possible.

The DiSC personality test is another type of personality assessment that can help you better understand your own personality and find a compatible career path. The name of the assessment, DiSC, stands for the types of intensity index factors that the assessment measures. ‘D’ stands for Dominance, and measures how outgoing and forceful a person is in accomplishing results. A high D index on the assessment indicates that a person is forceful and driven, while a lower D indicates a person who is more agreeable and conservative. The ‘I’ part of the DiSC assessment stands for Influence. This part of the assessment measures the extent to which a person shapes his or her environment by influencing or persuading others. Those with a high I index tend to be enthusiastic and gregarious, while those with a lower I index may be reflective and logical. The ‘S’ part of the DiSC assessment measures a person’s Steadiness. Those who score a high S tend to be drawn towards patience and predictability, while those with a lower S tend to be more spontaneous and active. The fourth and final index of the DiSC assessment is the ‘C’ factor, for Conscientiousness. People with a high C index tend to prefer accuracy and systematic structure, while those with a lower C index tend to prefer independence and room for creativity.

At Your Life’s Path we are committed to helping you understand your own strengths and weaknesses and to helping you find the right career path. We offer the DiSC assessment, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment, and the Newly Revised Strong Interest Inventory as well as other personality and leadership assessments.
