This was the result of a change that occurred due to the 2008 Olympics and make the funding be reduced in order to make this more of a success.
The funding was lowered significantly and this really set many players back and the teams then had to come up with much of their own money. Even though this was not idea, it still was the rule at the time.
The Success of This Plan
Even though many people were against this idea initially, it did turn out to be a success for other people that were involved in the 2008 Olympics. The most success it seems turned out to for Great Britain’s cycling team. There was a lot of work and dedication that was put into making this team one of the best out there.
The funding for this sport was extraordinary and it really helped to make the most out of the team.
