Nature At Yoga Retreats

Nature plays a very important role when it comes to yoga practice. There’s no wonder why almost every sport is taking place outdoor. This connection with the outer world has a very beneficial contribution for our body, determining it to function better and also to keep fresh. Being able to enjoy a wonderful landscape by using all our senses gives birth to a very relaxing experience. As the connection with nature is the most important thing in yoga, people have tried over the years to come up with the best locations for yoga retreats.

The entire purpose of these holidays is to help the practitioner escape the stressful existence of the ordinary living and to enjoy nature in its original form. Yoga retreats usually have for location wonderful places where we can find no trail of human civilization. This way, such an environment forces people to depend more on their body and mind rather than to use some of the already invented tools. The positive energy is better captured if we take advantage of the scenery at the maximum. By using our hearing, smell and sight, nature become a part of us.

There is nothing more delightful than admiring flowers, trees and grass, all this together with hearing the water of the river flow or the birds sing. Also, practicing yoga at the time when the sun rises or sets surely improves our state of mind. When we take such a vacation, we even expect for the food to be a special one in order to be closer to nature. The things we usually eat on such occasions are natural and they contain no chemicals that could harm the body. As a matter of fact, they also help us in releasing the toxins which, if they accumulate, they don’t allow us to function properly.

A yoga retreat in nature does not imply just meditating in a beautiful surroundings, but also taking part to several dynamic activities, such as skiing, surfing or climbing. All these actions allow for the muscles to stretch and repair and for the core to strengthen.

The advantage of practicing yoga in nature consists of being able to do all kind of exercises, which include air, fire, water and land movements. This way, we become more aware of the ground we stand on, of the air we breathe and of the water that is so important for hydrating the body both on the inside and on the outside. The fire exercises usually consist in capturing the sun’s warmth which brings a lot of energy to our body. None of these actions are performed at their best if we don’t practice yoga in the heart of nature.
