Network Marketing Encompasses Winners

Although many people turn up their noses at network marketing (MLM or multi-level marketing), it is an industry which encompasses winners. Most people who start out in network marketing will fail at it. According to generally accepted statistics, upwards of 95% of people who try network marketing will never make any money at it. This home based business holds great promise, but it may be difficult to find success with it.

To start a traditional brick and mortar business, a person must be prepared to devote a large sum of money (through savings or loans) plus make a huge time commitment. Most of these new start-up businesses will also fail within the first five years.

In network marketing there is a possibility for great financial rewards with a minimal financial investment. For a few hundred or a few thousand dollars (as compared with what could be hundreds of thousands of dollars for a regular business), a person can be in business for himself. He signs up with a network marketing company and becomes a distributor. There are hundreds of companies with which he can become involved. They all hold promise and make big claims about success. It is possible but not probable that the new person will ever earn money in the business.

There are some things that a new network marketer is told to do when starting out.

• Set your goals, determine your WHY
• Make a list of family and friends
• Talk to everyone about the opportunity
• Use the product and believe in it
• Keep the dream alive and remember your WHY
• Don’t give up

Of course, the upline people who sponsored the new distributor or are above him in the business do not want him to quit. They and the company earn money off of the product he buys. They will keep earning money as long as he keeps buying product and does not quit.

The real successful people in network marketing do stick with it if they truly believe in the product and the compensation plan of their company. Even if they have limited or no success for months, they may still believe in the concept and keep trying. They can become winners if they keep the dream alive and work hard although it may mean changing their methods. Network marketing is full of winners, and it is still possible to become one of them.
