Of course there are those who truly succeeded. And there are real network marketing experts who offer sound advice and sincerely share the best practices and strategies they have gathered through the years.
As in any business, network marketing is also trial and error. And while the figures are attractive and the growth potential seems unending, there are a significant number of too, who after venturing into the network marketing business, find themselves not even close to achieving the promised sales or profit figures. So before you plunge head first into the network marketing industry, here are some things you should know to keep yourself for landing behind-first on the pavement.
How To Fail at the Network Marketing Business:
F - is for foresight. If you're jumping into network marketing just because you heard it’s the next best thing since sliced bread, you're definitely headed for a major disappointment. People who just want to ride along a certain businesses' popularity have very little chances of making it.
For one, competition in the network marketing biz is very tough. You'll only succeed if you find a way to promote your business and prove that you're not another run of the mill company on the lookout for customers online. You must research, plan, strategize, and have a solid business plan replete with targets, deadlines and strategies. Knowledge is indeed power, and in this case, you should have a thorough understanding of what you're getting into- including the not-so-rosy aspects of running a network marketing business.
A - is for action and attitude. Most network marketing companies operate from the comforts of the business owners' home computer. One of the dangers of working from home is becoming lazy and distracted, especially for people who have only recently enjoyed the freedom of owning their own hours.
People fail because they're work attitudes are flawed or, because despite having a sound network marketing business plan - they sorely lack action.
I - is for investment and initiative. You need resources to get any business up and running. The good thing about network marketing is that you don't need an astronomical figure to start a business. Still, investment may also mean investing on learning materials like books and videos, or spending on marketing and advertising.
Bottom-line is, you need to set aside a sensible amount of money to help promote your business. And that's where initiative also comes in. Since you're working from home and this is your very own business - there's no one else around to tell you how to run things. It's all up to you how fast you want the business to grow - if you want it aggressively, then you must act accordingly.
L- is for love for the business. As cliche' as this sounds, the people who are more likely to fail in a network marketing business are those who went in without really liking it. It may have been the appeal of instant money, or the freedom of working at your own hours - but the fact remains that if you don't genuinely love what you are doing day in and day out - it would reflect on your output.
Think long and hard before starting any business. If you feel that your heart is not truly in it, don't bother. It will only be an exercise in futility.
