Despite a slowdown in consumer spending, recent figures have shown that iPod sales have grown massively for the first time in a year this Easter. Along with this comes the exciting news for the release of the new iPod shuffle which is currently the world’s smallest music player at nearly half the size of the previous model.
The new iPod shuffle which I previously mentioned as the worlds smallest music player, is also the first music player that talks to you. The new iPod shuffle comes with a voiceover technology that allows the iPod shuffle to speak your song titles, artists and playlist names.
The new iPod shuffle will be able to store close to 1000 songs and has been made easier to use than the original model by having the controls for the device located on the ear phones chord. From a press of a button on the chord you will be able to play, pause, adjust the volume and switch between playlists.
Like the previous iPod shuffle, this new model uses the same shuffle technology to randomly select songs stored in its memory to play. This technology helps to deliver a different listening experience every time. If you wish, you can create your own playlists to ensure only certain songs are played.
The new voiceover technology currently speaks 14 different languages, including English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
The new iPod shuffle comes in either black or silver and with a built-in stainless steel clip. The battery life can last up to 10 hours before needing to be re-charged.
The new Apple iPod shuffle is currently shipping from the Apple Store for around $79 (£54). With the popularity of the iPod it won’t be too long before new deals are being brought out as a part of the online shopping craze.
