New Post: Message Boards
A message board – also known as an internet forum or bulletin board system (BBS) – is an online discussion site. Within the message board is a forum which consists of a tree like directory containing topics (also known as threads). Inside the threads are posts made by registered and non-registered board members. Forums are normally organized, driven and updated by a group identified as members, and governed by a moderator. Message boards often consist of members who share social bonds or common interest. Topics and discussions are normally created from these interests. Examples of Online Message Board Sites • Yahoo • AOL • Ancestry.com • iVillage.com Over time, maintaining a message board can build up hundreds of pages with many thousands of keywords used by members – which is good when trying to build a site’s SEO ranking. Message board systems are cheap and often free. They are easy to set up and are great ways to increase a website’s content.
