No Moreteachers, No More Books
My husband and I put the kids to work. I have a 17 year old and a 12 year old and we own a family landscaping business. Don't underestimate your child's willingness to work where money is concerned. If you have a family business and or have a family friend who owns a family business. Allow the kids to help out for a small allowance. For my children, they not only learn about hard work, they learn a trade, they learn about money, customer service and best of all for us we get family time. Another option, if you can afford it is Summer Sleep Away Camps. There are some great camps out there. There are surf camps, skate boarding camps, performing arts camps, religious camps, astronaut camps, science camps. There is a camp out there for just about anything your kid is in to. My son has been begging to go to a very famous skate camp. I told him he could absolutely attend, when he makes honor roll for an entire school year. This hasn't happened yet but I am keeping hope alive. There are some really great day camps out there as well. You can search online for local day camps in your area. Check with your local recreation center as well. They always have some really great programs. If you have the option to stay at home with your kids when school is out, make each summer memorable with fun activities like Picnics in the back yard, volunteering in the community, making scrapbooks, camp out in the back yard, visit a theme park, hit the beach, read a great book to one another while relaxing poolside. You can make some cool summer recipes, make paper mache animals or dolls, always a kids favorite. Lastly, don't forget that summer is short and school will be back in session before you know it. Keep your kids up on the curriculum of the previous year so they don't forget what they've learned. Your kids will benefit from a refresher. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com |
