Last year hundreds of people were trading in their SUV’s and trucks in the hopes of obtaining a much smaller car. The reason for this was to save them money during this economic recession. I am one of those people who was fortunate enough to be able to do this though many were stuck with their gas guzzlers and no way out of them.
College students were some of the worst to suffer. They are at school full time trying to jump start their careers and this leaves little time for them to get more then just a part time position somewhere. They are always trying to find different ways in which they can save money and transportation is one of these ways that might help.
Instead of purchasing a car many are contemplating using an electric moped. There are dozens of advantages to using these vehicles. One of the more important of these reasons is money. The cost needed to purchase one of these mopeds is much lower than what is needed for a car and it does not require any amount of gas. The whole thing runs on a battery that can be easily recharged.
Another great reason is the amount of safety that people are given. Mopeds are a form of motorcycles - but at the same time they are dramatically different. They are much smaller and are not able to reach high speeds. Because of this they are easier to handle though we do not think it is wise to take them out on highways.
Many who are thinking about purchasing a moped are also on the verge of obtaining a motorcycle also. However, it is considerably harder to obtain a motorcycle because they are expensive and they require a special license to operate. This license can cost you as much as $200 and requires a series of tests that you have to pass. However, in most states there is no requirement for a license of any kind or tests that have to be passed.
If you are someone who cares about what happens to the environment and are upset by the amount of toxins pushed into the air then you will be pleased with electric mopeds. Because they do not require any type of fuel they do not release any harmful emissions into the air that can cause pollution.
