Office Catering - Are Standards Slipping?

Office catering is no longer as reliable as it used to be. Many companies that had not provided the service previously are now offering it. This includes restaurants, party planners and caterers. Unfortunately, to accommodate the high demand, some of these companies make the food in advance and freeze it. This means that the meal may not have the fresh taste that you expected.

If you are considering having an office event catered, you may want to stick to a company that you have used in the past and are familiar with. However, if you do choose to use a new company, you want to be cautious. First, you will want to make sure that the order you place will be freshly made. Choose items that the restaurant specializes in. It is also important that you discuss set up and delivery of the food. In some cases, the restaurant will simply want to deliver the food, but will not set up the trays. Confirm with the person who handles your order that the fees you are charged include the cost of set up and delivery. You will also need to know if there are any dishes or items that need to be returned and make arrangements for their pick up.

The day before the event, you will want to contact the restaurant. Confirm your order with them, the quantity that you have ordered and the set up and delivery time. Having this final conversation should put your mind at ease about the details. It will also give you a chance to make any changes or additions to the meal. When you are trying to select the vendor to provide the food, you will need to make sure you simply decide by taste and not price. Use a restaurant that you are familiar with. You can also select a company that has catered an event that you have recently attended. Make sure that you are mindful of selecting a menu that appeals to everyone.

The quality of office catering may have slipped, but you can easily avoid a bad experience. If you are focused and choose your vendor wisely, you will have a wonderful experience. The key is to not be swayed by low prices, which could mean low quality food and a bad experience. You may pay a little more, but in the end, you will have a delicious meal.
