Oklahoma City University

Oklahoma City University (OCU) is a coeducational, urban private university affiliated with the United Methodist Church and located in the Midtown district, Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City University is ranked 23rd among Master's Universities in the West region, and is the only institution in Oklahoma listed by the U.S. News and World Report magazine in the top tier of the regional, master level university category in its “America’s Best Colleges” issue. The OCU offers a variety of degrees in the disciplines of science and liberal arts.

Oklahoma City University offers the PLUS program for working adults, and more than sixty undergraduate majors, as well as twelve graduate degrees. The colleges and schools under the OCU include: Meinders School of Business, Oklahoma City University School of Law, Petree College of Arts & Sciences, Kramer School of Nursing, Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Arts Management, Wanda L. Bass School of Music, Department of Theatre, and Wimberly School of Religion and Graduate Theological Center.

The Oklahoma City University also has an enviable record in athletics, with teams from the University having won 32 National Championships in the state. The OCU teams, nicknamed “Stars”, currently participate in men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf, cheerleading, men’s and women’s rowing, men’s and women’s wrestling, women’s volleyball and softball. OCU’s athletes are part of the NAIA and Sooner Athletic Conference.

One of the hallmarks of the OCU is the great fine arts and theatre amenities offered. Apart from the annual Christmas event and other musical, dance and theatrical events offered by the university, the Oklahoma City University has recently welcomed the world-renowned Wanda L. Bass School of Music to its campus.

The presence of the vibrant, growing and reputable Oklahoma City University in the city is, and has been, a positive influence to OKC residents.
