Older Animal Theme Party
Our son was not even interested in walking the dog. He has shown little interest in animals all his life. He loves golf and most sports. However in his last 2 years at college ho met Lucy, the love of his life, and he became interested in saving elephants and some other endangered wild animals. He was very busy with his studies but still found time to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund and also directly for some elephant refuges. I think it has been to his personal benefit to have a cause to work for. When we knew our sons likely graduation date we started to think about having a party to celebrate. The ideas we had were to have a family bunch, an open house party or perhaps a party with a theme. In the end we wanted to have a party that he would love as he was leaving soon for London, UK to work. The themes we thought of were London, Golf or perhaps something to do with animals. Given how committed he is to saving endangered animals we thought there would be a theme right there. We arranged some fund raising packs from the charities and decided to have an animal theme party. The invitations were worded to come and help Chris raise money for WWF. He put in a personal note stating no gifts but charity donations would be brilliant. He added a bit on ho much he wanted to save a particular group of elephants too. Guests were required to wear animal costume. The party decorations were lots of pictures, posters and soft toys of animals. We had an area for each of a few animals with their posters and facts, also information on their current plight. We had raffles and an auction to raise money. We also have collection plates all over the place. However it was a party so we also had a lot of brilliant party games, great music and lots of great party food. I hope you can consider an animal theme party no matter what age your guests are.
