Online Poker Cheating Unveiled

As long as poker have been going on, poker cheating has been going on. These days poker cheating is less likely to take the wraps off over the top and that is likely to be going on in online casinos where unlike the days of old, dealers are now a normal part of the game. Although poker cheating is less obvious in online casino nowadays, slight online poker cheating is still around.

In 2007, the biggest online poker cheating shocking incident ever was starting to take place at Absolute Poker. There seemed to be a cheater-hacker who could actually see his opponent’s hole cards. This allowed to him to castigate his opponents when they were weak, and also make impossible laydowns when he could see he was beat.

Hacking

Hackers just send people emails saying that for them to pick up their bonus, they need to confirm player's login information by going to some site they set up to look like your favorite online poker room and poker players simply hand over their login details to them. Always remember, there's no online poker room that ever going to ask you to do that!

Collusion

Collusion is perhaps the most common form of cheating found in online poker and happens when two or more players at the poker table, working together to swindle one or more other poker players at the table by sharing information. It could be as simple as two poker players using IM to warn each other when they have a big hand.

Most colluders are probably feeble poker players and will still lose money. Keep an eye on you opponents. Be on the lookout for two or more poker players building a pots for one another and then one player folding at the end. Or if you notice a hand being announced in the chat box, this could be a key that someone is colluding through instant messenger or some other online communication method.

Multiple Accounts

It is when a player plays multiple accounts at the same time on the same online poker site. There are several cases that have been disclosed over the last few years where a player joined in a poker tournament under several different accounts. The worst case situation is the player has two of his own accounts at the same table and could take part in all sorts of acts considered to be collusion. That is random and relatively out of the ordinary compared to the fact that this one player simply gets multiple shots at the same prize as everyone else.
