Online Wine Merchant Turton Wines Imports New Organic Spanish Range From Bodegas Uncastellum
Brett Dawson, Director of Turton Wines, said, “We’re so pleased to be able to supply the excellent range of wines from this unique vineyard .The fact that they are organic is just makes them even more special” The vineyard is located in the municipality of Uncastillo, bordering on Catiliscar and Sos del Rey Católico. The plantation was done on the south-eastern slopes, in order to make the most of the solar energy and compensate for the high altitude of the fields. This ensures a correct ripening of the fruit, as well as a notable diurnal temperature variation. In order to prevent erosion, the slopes have a permanent indigenous plant cover. This indigenous vegetation cover is periodically mowed and left on the slope’s surface to in order to maintain fertility. This land is very rich in chalky stones and was originally covered by a mediterranean forest. An average rainfall of 550/600 mm makes irrigation unnecessary, but ensures the rootstock can pierce properly to the deepest layers and extract the soil’s best characteristics, which make their wines unique. The range includes....
