Contrast is the idea of putting to opposing colors or ideas next to each other. Contrast in interior design makes the eye roll over certain areas of the room and focus on a couple of segments or patterns. Contrasting colors are identified on a simple color wheel: They are the colors that are opposite each other. And remember, one can put too much contrast in a room very easily. A good rule of thumb is if you are going to be using contrast to have one major contrasting item per room.

Once you understand that anything and everything can change, be created, or designed in your dollhouse it opens up tons of potential. It is absolutely wonderful to be able to craft and design even the minute details of a doll's house. A great example is using linens to coordinate your dollhouse design, and make things pop. The bedroom is an excellent demonstration of detail and the breadth of items that you can create. Everything from curtains and pillows, to mattresses and blankets can be created and made to fit. Next is the dinning room where you can have your own napkins, dinning room table covers, seat covers, etc. In the bathroom you have towels, floor mats, shower curtains, etc. As I stated before, it is endless, so enjoy the possibilities!
Dollhouse Exterior Design
Once you have completed your inside design, it is time to look again at the exterior design and some ways to make it look better. You will want to focus on the most eye attracting points first: The paint and the shingles. To have a quality paint job on your house apply at least three coats of recommended paint. When you are applying the shingles first die them and then assemble them with ruler drawn lines to avoid mistakes. There are many other ways to enjoy an attractive exterior; most of them are through accessories like dog houses, or gazebos. You can even have some small flower pots to place in the window seals. And let us not forget the biggest advantage to designing the outside: the lights. Put some porch lights on, and if you have lit the inside it will make the glow through the windows appealing on the outside as well.
