Orange County Personal Trainer Reveals 4 Secrets To Big Strong Arms
Big Arms Come From Hard Work
Most guys in the gym do curls, thinking that they are gonna wake up a few months later with 20 inch guns.
Unfortunately, they never will.
Big arms are not built by doing focused, isolated movements for your arm muscles. Big arms are built by doing heavy pushing and pulling movements. Lets break it down.
4 Best Exercises for Bigger Arms
The triceps are involved with every press and the biceps assist with every pulling motion. By utilizing these heavy pushes and pulls we can overload the arm muscles and force them into adapting (growing) to the new stimulus.
So here are four killer exercises to help you build big, strong arms fast!
We'll start with the presses. My two favorites are dips and close grip bench press.
1. Dips are an incredible exercise that challenges all of your pressing muscles, including your triceps. For some of you, just doing dips is a challenge, so start slow and maybe use an assisted dip machine if regular dips are too difficult. Once you build up strength you can move onto regular dips. Then as your strength increases, you can add weight by using a dip belt.
2. Close grip presses are another incredible triceps blasting exercise. By bringing your hands in and keeping your elbows in as you press, it forces the triceps to work harder. You can use a decline bench, flat bench or incline bench for this movement. Start light and progress slowly.
3. Chin Ups are a bicep builder second to none! Chin ups are a simple movement. Grab a bar, palms up and pull yourself up. It doesn't get much easier than that! If chin ups are too difficult, the use an assisted pull up machine to build up your strength. As you progress, you may want to use a dip belt and add weight for your chin ups.
4. Palms up barbell rows. Grab an Olympic bar, palms up, bend forward, maintain good posture and pull the bar to your sternum. This movement will help you develop killer biceps, as well as a strong upper back.
So there you have it. 4 exercises pr oven to build strong, muscular arms in record time. Mix em up, work hard and I look forward to hearing about your results soon!
